A husband, a father, a grandfather and a dear friend
Frank lived his life to the very fullest, and just as he wanted to, right the way through. In recent years he’d travelled again to Italy, where he’d visited many times with Maureen; he now went to study Art History. And he’d made it to Russia too, which he’d studied so extensively, and for so long, from a distance. Frank was so proud to have graduated with his second Open University Degree, in Art History, on his 82nd birthday. And he was so proud to have been complemented on his German accent on the Twinning trip to Seesen, just a few weeks ago.
Frank was a natural and proud member of the Twinning Associations in both Abingdon and Wantage for many years. He used to really, really look forward to the next Twinning trip to Germany or France, where he’d made another great set of friends. Frank also took great pride in his work with his friends in the Abingdon Lions, and was so honoured to serve as Lions’ President – of course he loved the International Lions Conventions abroad
We are hoping to raise £5000 for a new Philips Intellivue MX100 monitor for the Children’s ward. This is the reason we did the JR abseil, we are still waiting for all the donations to come in and be banked before we give out our total but so far we are nearly half way there.
Philips Intellivue MX100 monitor
Why are they better?
They are light and portable with a touch screen
What does this mean for the children?
This means that once the child is connected to the monitors they can take it with them anywhere in the hospital, including theatres, Intensive Care or other wards. This makes it less stressful as they will no long need to be disconnected and reconnected for each move
What does it mean for the staff?
As the monitors have stayed with the child, they give a more accurate information. This allows staff to make decisions about treatment quicker and with more confidence
How can I help?
We would be so grateful if you could give us some money or share this
How do I make a donation?

Our August newsletter
This month we attended both Cholsey Show and Cowley Classic Car Show. We were there with our tombola (win a lion) and message in a bottle/wallet. We are trying to come up with new ways to make more money, that way we have more money to give away. We would love to hear your ideas.
Sorry it’s a bit later than planned but here is our July’s newsletter
